Every person suffering from Candida overgrowth is also suffering from a B vitamin deficiency. But not everyone suffering from a B vitamin deficiency suffers from Candida overgrowth. The symptoms of the two may be similar, because they share a single source, but there is one characteristic trait distinguishing people from the two groups – the reaction to alkalization, which means alkaline diet, supplementation, alkaline water.
People without a Candida overgrowth feel good after eating raw vegetables, alkaline and light meals containing a small amount of animal protein (and I mean a diet based on these foods rather than a single meal), they don’t react negatively (with a decrease in overall wellbeing, worsening of appearance, intensification of digestive or dermatological symptoms) to large doses of B vitamins. After fasting, their bodies regenerate and flourish, function better, meaning the symptoms begin to disappear, they have more energy, internal organs and systems function more effectively, their appearance improves. These people can trust their body’s cravings, because its self-regulatory abilities are preserved, it aims towards health. The tongues of people without Candida overgrowth doesn’t have the characteristic white layer on top of it and the saliva test for the presence of Candida (which involves spitting into a glass of clear water after waking up) is negative in this group – the saliva entirely dissolves in water.
However, people in this group could still have some health problem indirectly rooted in a B vitamin deficiency, despite applying an appropriate diet and not being infected with Candida, because it could be that their food doesn’t provide the necessary nutrients or they have bad dietary habits, which make it hard for the nutrients to be absorbed, which means there will be enough of them for the body’s current needs, but not for straightening out the already existing deficit, a consequence of a past B vitamin deficiency. Cleansing the body with a millet groat or vegetable based fast and consequent supplementation of B vitamins in an increased dosage should help in resolving such issues. If this is not happening, the cause would probably be a specific deficiency of another vitamin or element. If this vitamin or element is not included in the diet in a sufficient amount, the deficiency cannot be refilled despite the appropriate amount of B vitamins necessary for the absorption of said vitamin or element and so the problem won’t be solved this way. The more varied your diet is, the smaller the likelihood of such issues occurring.
People with a Candida overgrowth are usually characterized by a white layer appearing on top of their tongues (a sign of an ongoing removal of toxins) and positive saliva test for the presence of Candida (strings of saliva left on the bottom of the glass and on the surface of the water mean an earlier stage of Candida overgrowth; the presence of vortexes, “tornadoes” and suspension – an advanced stage of infection with the fungus). Another characteristic trait is the paradoxical reaction to healthy, alkaline meals or supplementation – generally any kind of it, but mostly to B vitamins, vitamin C and magnesium, especially in large doses. It’s caused by the fact that alkalization doesn’t improve functioning and wellbeing, but the opposite – by provoking the fungus to produce more toxins, it causes the body’s state to worsen and the present symptoms to intensify (digestive, dermatological, inflammatory, immunological or hormonal). This group of people can’t indulge in their bodies’ cravings, because Candida produces a substance similar to insulin, which causes a strong craving for sugar, because a raise blood sugar level feeds the fungus and allows it to multiply. It’s characteristic for Candida overgrowth to have varied symptom – not everyone, however, displays all of them, depending on their lifestyle and diet, the body will exploit some systems more than others, which it prioritizes. The symptoms could include being “semi-functional”, fatigue, lack of energy, low mood or irritation, trouble focusing, anxiety, recurring headaches, vague stomachaches, constipation or diarrhea, gas, heartburn, food allergies, allergic reactions, PMS, cold hands and feet, difficulty in dealing with hunger (irritation, shaking), a strong feeling of drowsiness after a full meal, sleep irregularities, burning and tearing in the eyes, skin changes (eczema, psoriasis, hives, acne), itch, strong odor accompanying sweat, dryness and a sour taste in the mouth, a hoarse throat, dry cough, coughing up yellow-green phlegm, stiffness of the muscles, tightness in the chest, angular cheilitis, herpes, chronic infections. The symptoms of a deficiency of B vitamins and the substances dependent on them cause inflammation, which are then diagnosed as separate conditions – a Candida overgrowth may be accompanied by: myocarditis and other heart diseases, gall stones, bladder inflammation, kidney stones, diseases of the thyroid (Hashimoto included), allergy, asthma, infections of the sinuses, skin conditions. This is because a Candida overgrowth causes a B vitamin deficiency, and the B vitamin deficiency causes a deficit of other vitamins and elements and substances co-produced by them (enzymes, hormones) necessary for the body to function properly – every organ and system.
WARNING. Self-observation and self-diagnosis can be interrupted by a cumulative effect. In strongly acidified people or in people with a small B vitamin deficiency, alkalization can bring positive results for a while before a sudden decline in health after a few days or doses or two weeks, for examples (or even two months if the dose is small) – this should be taken into consideration. Alkalization is generally good for the body, so as long as you have enough B vitamins, you will feel more energetic and will function better. This means that people without a Candida overgrowth can optimize their body’s functioning in this way, but people infected by the fungus will sooner or later experience a decline in their wellbeing due to Candida’s response. This will happen sooner in people, who have already maximally used up their B vitamins and the substances dependent on them (elements, other vitamins, enzymes, hormones) – for example they eat light meals (containing a small amount of animal protein), and they additionally cleanse their bodies by going through fasting or alkalizing supplements. I know people who react negatively to any and all attempts of intensifying the alkalization with symptoms similar to an allergy or the flu, for example. In people infected with the fungus and eating heavy meals this will happen later. Their bodies are strongly acidified, but because of the B vitamin consumption for the digestion of heavy meals the cleansing processes will not be started. In this case the decline may happen after a while and you may not link it to the changes in your diet. We often believe the body’s reactions to be immediate and if we feel well after starting vitamin C supplementation or alkaline water or cranberry juice for example, we decide that they aren’t harmful to us and then look for the cause of the symptoms in other substances or food products (this is when you’d say you have an allergy to something). Meanwhile the body will react not to a specific product, but rather when it runs out of resources with which to neutralize Candida’s toxins, which is being provoked by the alkalization to increase the production – this is why the same thing may harm us at one point and not at another. Excessive sensibility of the body is directly linked to magnesium – factors that harm us (cause a reaction) are the ones that increase its usage or deliver it in a form that our bodies are not able to absorb because of the lack of vitamin B6.
As you can see, everyone may have a different level of Candida overgrowth and a different level of deficiency of B vitamin and the substances dependent on them. General sensation and appearance are the measurements of the current state of the body, determined by the amount of B vitamins. You could then look good and function despite the presence of a Candida overgrowth, if your diet and supplementation nourish the body; and you could also look and function poorly, despite limiting Candida or curing the condition, if the B vitamin deficiency is increasing due to an inappropriate diet or supplementation.
We all lead different lifestyles and have different eating habits, the symptoms of Candida overgrowth also differ. This is why it’s difficult to create clear rules for diagnosis or a procedure of treatment – a simple recipe. You have to listen to yourself, try to understand what your body is trying to tell you and respond to its needs in the given moment, because those needs will change with every delivered portion of B vitamins. Every time you manage to deliver (in food or supplement form) enough of them to ensure the digestion is effective and at the same time little enough not to intensify the process of cleansing the body (not provoke Candida to attack more violently), you take a step forward and slowly but surely you are returning to health, the symptoms will diminish and the body heals itself. If you can’t match your diet and supplementation to nourish your body and accommodate the pace of cleansing to its ability to neutralize Candida’s toxins, you could function in a state of crisis for years, only making things progressively worse.
